DOE releases their Final Environmental Assessment for Oneida Energy

The U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy issued their final Environmental Assessment finding of no significant impact for the Oneida Seven Generations Corporation: Energy Recovery Project in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

WDNR approves air and waste permits for Oneida Energy

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has approved the air and waste permits for Oneida Seven Generation Corporation’s proposed waste to energy facility in Green Bay, WI.  The WDNR made a final determination this week that the project will meet air and waste pollution control requirements and will not cause significant adverse environmental impacts. This follows a nine month application process, which included public meetings and comment periods.

Department of Energy releases EA Draft Oneida Energy

The Department of Energy released a draft of their Environmental Assessment for the proposed Oneida Energy Pyrolysis/Gasification based waste-to-energy facility in Green Bay WI.
The "Draft EA analyzes the potential environmental impacts of the proposed construction, operation and eventual decommissioning of the proposed project and the alternative of not implementing this project (the No-action Alternative), under the assumption that the project would not go forward without the SEP or BIA funding" (U.S. DOE).

Oneida Energy

The first of its size U.S. Pyrolysis/Gasification based waste-to-energy plant is going through the final permitting process from the Department of Energy and WI Department of Natural Resources. Construction is expected to begin in July 2011.
